.If the vessel is chartered in time charter, which charges are responsible for charters and owners.?
1.In chartering operations for calculating the laytime, which time is used to count and which time will not count?.
2.What costs will contribute in the port disbursement.
3.In time charter , who will appoint the port agents ( both at loadport and disport )whether the shipowner or charterer or who sublet the vessel?.
4. When the vessel arrived at the anchorage area, normally it will anchor in that area in order to get port authorities approval ( for cargo vessel).
5.How the mooring is performed?.whether connected by tug through rope both in fwd and aft position.
6. what does it mean the vessel offhire?.
7.what is the onhire survey?.
8. Say as an example.
For loading cargo ( iron ore ) form india ( loadport) to China( Disport).
If the vessel reaches the loadport, what are all the survey to be taken in the loadport before loading the iron ore cargo into the holds.
kindly help me by giving answers to the above questions.
dont think iam annoying too much.
1. in the charter agreement you should have a set amount for regular time and another smaller amount for weather layovers. any lay time that is due to repairs caused by the work in question is still at the regular rate and any due to irregular breakdowns or boat maintance is not charged.
2. all port cost not due to irregular breakdowns or mataince is in cured by the leasing agent
3. The leasing agent is responsible for assigning a ships agent but this can also be done by the charter company for a fee
4. if Anchorage is due to normally ships ops. it is charged regular time. but some companies do charge a lesser amount for anchorage. This is up to the charter company and must be in the contract. all other anchorage isues refer to #1
5. How the Mooring is done is up to the port athurites and the docking pilot and should be handeled through the ships agent.
6. Sometimes during the contract the leaser will find that he will not need the vessel for a couple of days and will try to place it offhire. This should also be in the contract that if the vessel is placed in an offhire position then they will be charged the weather rate. refer to #1
7. The onhire survey is before the ship is placed on contract. The leasing agent will have a surveyer board the vessel and check generl condition, seaworthyness and saftey. This cost is sometimes split between the leaser and the contractor.
8. Any surveys done during the charter that is not part of normal ships ops. and is for the purpose of cargo is incured by the leaser. You should note that you need to have in the contract who is to provide hold cleaning and survey for end of contract.
